Gold found in Eucalyptus Leaves
A Scientific study based in Australia has discovered particles of Gold in the leaves of Eucalyptus trees, which could lead to a more effective and environmentally friendly way of mining and prospecting for Gold.
The roots of a Eucalyptus Tree typically extend below the surface to depths of over 30 meters, acting like a hydraulic pump, according to the lead author of the study, Dr Mel Lintern. Using such a technique to analyse minerals in vegetation could be “a more targeted way of searching for minerals that reduces costs and impact on the environment”, he said.
