Silver
Silver is a well-known precious metal which has a number of uses, such as for the making of Jewellery and Ornaments, as fine utensils, for medical purposes, Electronics and most famously for the minting of Coins and Bullion Bars.
Most Silver is extracted from Silver ores, but it is also mined from Native Silver, which may be found pure but usually with other elements such as Gold.
There is a natural alloy of Gold and Silver, known as Electrum, which is classified as a variety of Gold.
Silver is a highly resistant material which will not dissolve in most solvents and does not react with oxygen and water.
